Chariot Motors in a partnership with ATC Esercizio S.p.A., a joint-stock company controlled by the Municipality of La Spezia and managing the local public transport within the basin of Liguria and E-CO, spin-off and partner of Politecnico di Milano have started in April 2018 a six-months pilot project with one three-doors Chariot e-bus.
This is the first project in Italy for this ultra-capacitor zero emissions electric bus technology. It is suitable for cities and provides an economically competitive alternative to existing fleets of polluting and inefficient fossil fuel powered city buses.
The line is equipped with one 340 kW AC/DC charging station located at the terminal with charging time from 0 to 100% State of Charge of 5-7 minutes.
The bus is the newest generation of Chariot e-bus equipped with 32 kWh ultracapacitor
The Chariot e-bus is extremely well-received by the public-at-large, by the drivers and by the technical personnel, being convenient, ergonomic, reliable and economical due to which fact the project is prolonged until the end of March 2019.
