Chariot Electric bus Graz

Public transport operator Graz Linien started a one-year pilot project with two three-door Chariot e-buses in April 2017

This was Graz’s first, and Austria’s second such project.

The route has a 340kW AC/DC charging station at each terminus, plus one at an interim stop. Improvements in charging stations and algorithms mean the buses are now charged just once per lap at one terminus, charges lasting two to three minutes.

Graz Linien is testing the new generation Chariot e-bus with a 32kWh ultracapacitor and ZF wheel hub electric motors.

The public has taken to Chariot e-buses, alongside drivers and technicians who note their comfort, ergonomics, reliability, and economy.
