Croatian cities and public transport operators in Zagreb and Dubrovnik test the Chariot 18m UC e-bus
The Croatian capital Zagreb followed the examples of Belgrade and Sofia by testing the operational capabilities and passenger-oriented features of the 18m articulated UC e-bus during a two-week experimental period. Public transport operator ZET operated the electric vehicle on selected routes in Zagreb. The bus simulated regular service by running on chosen ZET lines without passengers. These routes included both hilly and flat sections, allowing the operator to assess the vehicle’s behaviour under diverse service conditions and gain insights into its advantages and potential drawbacks.
In Dubrovnik, public transport operator Platanus tested the Chariot e-bus with passengers along various routes as part of an innovative 90-day pilot project at the end of 2024. Powered by ultracapacitors, the electric bus requires only a ten-minute charge at the final station to complete a 50 km round-trip route.
