Global Mass Transit has released the third edition of the Europe Bus Market Report. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the current status of the bus market in Europe, future plans to procure buses and deploy infrastructure, and forecast of bus demand in 30 countries in Europe.
The key highlights of the report are:
- that more than 500,000 buses are expected to be purchased by 2031;
- more than 274,000 buses have been registered in the region in the last six years;
- over the next 10 years, between EUR139.6 billion and EUR179.2 billion is expected to be invested in procurement of buses and related infrastructure;
- and in the next decade, the spotlight will be on the promotion of sustainable mobility and clean energy, with cities transitioning from diesel buses to zero-emission fleets (battery-electric and hydrogen-powered buses).
