In March and April 2018, the Commune de La Spezia’s ATC Esercizio starts the preliminary pre-operation phase with a Chariot Motors electric bus. Presently the pilot project will be realized for six months with a three-door Chariot ultracapacitor e-bus.
The project is Italy’s first ultracapacitor zero emissions electric bus technology project. Specifically this technology is suitable for cities and provides an economically competitive alternative to existing polluting and inefficient fossil fuelled city buses.
