Public transport operators in Ljubljana test the Chariot 18m UC e-bus
In Ljubljana, the bus simulated regular service by running on two LPP routes—N1 and N5, without passengers. These lines include both gradients and flat sections, offering a varied testing environment to evaluate the vehicle’s technical performance under different conditions.
The 18m UC electric bus is equipped with a roof-mounted 108 kWh ultracapacitor system and consumes approximately 1.3 kWh per kilometre when operating at a total load of 4.5 tonnes under optimal conditions. The ultracapacitor is non-flammable and maintains stable performance at temperatures ranging from –40°C to 60°C. Additionally, the bus does not require overnight charging: a final fast charge at the end of the previous day is sufficient for the next morning’s operation. Frequent charge and discharge cycles do not impact the longevity of the ultracapacitor.
