Gabrovo Municipality has officially presented the results of its Sustainable Mobility Project, implemented in partnership with Sevlievo Municipality and financed under Bulgaria’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan. With a total investment exceeding EUR 5.2 million, the project introduced innovative solutions for sustainable public transport, road safety, and the modernization of transport infrastructure.
Among the project’s key achievements is the expansion of the electric fleet of Municipal Passenger Transport – Gabrovo with nine new electric buses, now operating on both urban and intercity routes. The project also included the installation of seven charging stations, as well as the implementation of intelligent mobility solutions aimed at improving the safety and efficiency of urban transport.
Chariot Motors – A Partner in Modernizing Public Transport
As part of the project, Chariot Motors supplied five of the new electric buses together with their charging infrastructure. The company provided not only the vehicles themselves but also their commissioning, personnel training, warranty support, and after-sales service—essential elements for the successful operation of electric public transport systems.
The new electric buses contribute to:
- reducing harmful emissions and noise pollution;
- lowering operating costs;
- providing a more comfortable and environmentally friendly travel experience for the residents and visitors of Gabrovo;
- supporting the development of a more sustainable public transport system in line with European green mobility policies.
