In April 2018, the Commune de La Spezia’s ATC Esercizio, E-CO, and the Politecnico di Milano launched a six-month pilot project with a Chariot Motors e-bus
The project used a Chariot three-door e-bus.
It was Italy’s first ultracapacitor zero emissions electric bus technology project. The technology is suitable for cities and provides an economically competitive alternative to existing fleets of polluting and inefficient fossil fuel powered city buses.
The route has a 340kW AC/DC terminus charging station, charges lasting five to seven minutes. The e-bus is Chariot’s latest with a 32kWh ultracapacitor.
Public, drivers, and technicians have received it extremely well and the project got extended to March 2019.
