The Ministry of Education and Science has announced a public tender, which envisages the staged purchase of electric buses over the next four years, depending on the particular needs of each municipality. The expected total value of the bus purchase is BGN 23 million.
The public tender is divided into 10 separate sections depending on the type and size of the vehicles. The largest electric buses will have up to 50 seats. The smallest electric cars will have 4+1 seats, and the minibuses – up to 9 seats. The main criteria for selecting the electric vehicles supplier will be the optimal value in terms of price and quality, as well as the electricity consumption, the provided warranties and the delivery time.
Along with this, the Ministry of Education and Science continues to renew the diesel vehicles bus fleet, as electric ones cannot be used in all parts of the country, such as remote and mountainous areas.
With the inclusion of electric buses in the renovation of the bus fleet, the Ministry of Education and Science also complies with the European directive requirements for the promotion of clean and energy-efficient road vehicles.
