February sees Turin’s bus route 19 starts a four-month pilot of a SmartBUS UC e-bus. Local public transport operator GTT will run the trial. Joint-venture makers of the innovative fast-charging electric bus are Chariot Motors with its local Italian partner E-CO. The assembler of the bus is Higer Bus Company Limited.
SmartBUS is the most efficient zero-emission city transport electric bus on the market. It recharges automatically in mere minutes by butting a pantograph onto a terminus charger. The bus has the latest and most efficient power store: an ultracapacitor rated at 32kWh.
